Grant Portfolio Manager - Middlemore Hospital

About the Role

This is a full-time role based at our Middlemore Hospital site. The Grant Portfolio Manager position requires a highly organised and self-motivated individual to actively manage and grow non-commercial grant research administered by ACTT at partner Hospitals and sites. The position requires someone with a genuine passion and commitment to achieving better health outcomes for our communities.

The Grant Portfolio Manager is responsible for the set-up, management and closeout of both investigator-initiated and collaborative research group (CRG) research. The role includes all pre-study tasks including identifying research funding opportunities and preparation of funding applications, regulatory submissions, budget preparation and management, contracts, third party contracts, and recruitment planning. The role also provides study oversight and management, financial monitoring and reconciliation through to completion of the study and reporting back to the funding body or Sponsor.

The Grant Portfolio Manager position is integral to business development, developing relationships with Departments, Investigators and Funders. The position works closely with the Director – Grant Research to implement a strategic business plan to grow the Grant research portfolio managed by ACTT. This includes working with national and international funding agencies, philanthropic organisations and research networks to support growth of Department research portfolios and to develop local Key Opinion Leaders.

 

About You

  • PhD in medical science
  • Knowledge and understanding of medico/legal and ethical responsibilities related to health research and clinical trials
  • Experience with research and/or funding application submissions and the related governance processes
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent writing, analytical and editing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed time management/organisational delegation skills
