Register for Future Trials
Clinical trials help researchers learn whether new medicines, devices and treatments are safe and effective. People choose to take part for many reasons, including accessing new or emerging therapies, learning more about their condition, taking an active role in their health, or helping improve care for others in the future There are many reasons as to why someone would want to be part of a clinical trial. Often people take part through their desire to help future generations by contributing to the development of new medicines. Others join a clinical trial because previous treatment for their medical condition did not work for them, or to gain access to modern novel treatments.
Clinical trials involving investigational medicines in New Zealand are reviewed by Medsafe and approved by an independent Health and Disability Ethics Committee before they can begin. Taking part in a clinical trial is always voluntary. Reimbursement for travel may be available, depending on the trial. We are located at Middlemore Hospital in South Auckland and at Whangārei Hospital in Northland. Clinical trials conducted by Aotearoa Clinical Trials will have visits at these sites. Most clinical trials conducted by Aotearoa Clinical Trials involve visits to one of these sites, so it is important that you are able to attend appointments if invited to participate.
If you would like to hear about future clinical trial opportunities, please complete the questionnaire below to join our Research Contact List.
